Waga sculpture
Waga (also spelled waka) are anthropomorphic wooden funerary sculptures carved by the Konso people of southern Ethiopia . Erected as memorials to deceased heroes and prominent men who killed enemies or dangerous animals, these stylized figures stand up to 118 centimeters tall and feature bone-inlaid eyes and teeth . Each waga grouping typically includes representations of the deceased surrounded by his wives, defeated enemies, and any animals he killed .
