Ethnological Museum

Inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2024, the area preserves a nearly two-million-year cultural sequence encompassing the Oldowan, Acheulean, Middle Stone Age, and Late Stone Age. Hominin fossils of Homo erectus, Homo heidelbergensis, and archaic Homo sapiens have been discovered alongside stone tools and animal bones. The site features an on-site museum and open-air exhibits displaying excavated Acheulean living floors preserved in situ.
